I’ve never read A Separate Peace or Naked Lunch but I’ve read the others. Are those two books worth my while?

Uh, A Separate Peace is one of the few books I’ve read that I hate — John Knowles wouldn’t know subtle if it hit him in the face with a brick — but I do know people who love it, so… personal preference, I guess. It’s not long at all, so if you’re curious you might as well read it, maybe? But it’s definitely one of those books where you know what’s going to happen five pages in, and 80 percent of the plot is propelled entirely by the protagonist’s neuroses/stupidity/paranoia. And the rest’s WWII, pretty much.Uh, I should probably also add the caveat that I read this seven years ago, when I was fifteen. But I tried picking it up again a few years ago to see if my feelings had changed and I couldn’t force myself past the first ten pages.

My mistakenly released copy of The Fault In Our Stars which was just delivered, in the box, on my bookshelf, and shall remain there till January 10th! The books actual release date. I’m sorry this happened to you John!

A single image that sums up the amazing response everyone has had to the very unfortunate premature shipment of some copies of The Fault in Our Stars. I’m not gonna lie: This made me cry a little.

Ben Wyatt in: What the hell is happening to me now?!

His reactions are perfect. Middle right.

Oh man remember Mark Brendanawicz? I can’t… I can’t even fathom how much of a better character Ben is than Mark Brendanawicz. Just… just entertain that comparison for a moment. Wow.

Oh man, yes. I take a moment every day to thank God for Ben Wyatt.

Mrs Lintott: Didn’t you try for Cambridge?

Hector: Oxford. Cloisters, ancient libraries… I was confusing learning with the smell of cold stone. If I had gone to Oxford I’d probably never have worked out the difference.

Mrs Lintott: Durham was very good for history, it’s where I had my first pizza. Other things, too, of course, but it’s the pizza that stands out.
